Man happy EFL works on a wide range of themes – pollution, forests, wetlands and other protected areas, environmental law and   policy, sustainable development, climate change and solid waste management.

EFL’s activities are carried out on a needs basis and also on theme areas and projects identified by the organisation as important.

The organisation designs specific projects to fit CSR initiatives and donor requirements, which fall within EFL’s mandate and thematic areas.


EFL’s main activities currently include the following:

· Presenting cases for litigation, and addressing lawsuits and other cases, on behalf of disadvantaged communities;

· Carrying out scientific and legal site visits to investigate complaints;

· Carrying out environmental advocacy campaigns;

· Producing policy papers, technical papers and briefing papers on key environmental issues;

· Running a mobile exhibition on environmental issues;

· Holding seminars, workshops and training courses on environmental conservation and law, EIA procedures, state of the environmental for the general public, NGOs, policy makers and community members;

· Carrying out water and noise tests to support litigation;

· Running centres and units dealing with environmental injustice reporting and monitoring, environmental monitoring, EIA monitoring, environmental legal, policy research and advocacy and environmental information

· Running a legal panel, scintio-legal advisory panel and young volunteers’ environmental club;

· Appearing in the Supreme Court as an intervenient party on invitation in matters of environmental concern, especially with regard to sand mining, sound  and air pollution;

· Technical and policy advice to government institutions, and private sector institutions.
