The conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems in Sri Lanka
A forum on the Conservation of Marine and Coastal Ecosystems was organised by Environmental Foundation Ltd. (EFL) and held on the 26th of September 2006 at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, Colombo. The Forum marked the launch of EFL’s Marine and Coastal Ecosystems programme.
Its aim was to bring together a wide range of stakeholders, from the government, NGOs, academic and civil society sectors, to discuss the state of the country’s marine and coastal environment, and identify the needs and future directions for actions for addressing threats to marine and coastal ecosystems across Sri Lanka.
These priority areas and topics would form the basis of EFL’s Marine and Coastal Programme.
