One main objective of the conference was to create a platform for developing countries to present their conservation efforts to the world, share and discuss common challenges and to develop further capacity to conduct biodiversity conservation projects in their own countries.

On the seventh day of the #COP14 (14th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity) of the #UNBiodiversityConference2018, Dr. Wikramanayake participated in the Rio Conventions Pavilion.
The Forum called ‘Into the Future: The Post-2020 Frameworks’, focused on exploring the biodiversity mitigation hierarchy as a tool for engaging industry and finance in effective biodiversity management.
