EIA Comments on the Apartment Development Project in Thalahena, Negombo.
The following EIA comments were made by EFL on the Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) of the
proposed Apartment Development Project in Thalahena, Negombo. The comments were forwarded to the Director General of Coast Conservation and Coastal Resources Management Departmen, on the 07th of October, 2019.
EIA comments on the proposed Colombo LRT
Colombo light rail transit (LRT) project is the first of its kind to be developed in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The LRT is designed in accordance with the transport plan formulated for the development of Western Megapolis region. It will be implemented by the Government of Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development (MMWD) under a public-private partnership. The project will be developed in seven phases. The first phase will include the construction of a 15.8km stretch between Colombo Fort area and Malabe, while later phases will expand into the Western Megapolis region. The fully electrified network will be built at an elevation of 6m above ground.
