Green Conversations: COVID-19 & the Environment

Green Conversations is a series of event hosted by the Environmental Foundation (Guarantee) Limited. The newest edition of Green Conversations will be an online (Webinar) event due to the restrictions imposed on social gatherings in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event titled “COVID-19 & the Environment” focuses on the spread of zoonotic diseases such as SARS and COVID-19 or known as Coronaviruses.

The spread of zoonotic diseases is inter-linked with legal pet trade, domestic farm animal raising, and illegal wildlife trade. The importance in understanding the spread of diseases through these paths is important for species conservation and the threats to human health. The event will also focus on how these legal and illegal activities has caused global health concerns and environmental degradation that is enhanced by illegal activities.

The event will bring world renowned virologists, wildlife biologists, conservationists and economists in to one platform to share insights on the importance of biodiversity conservation and the spread of zoonotic diseases.

The event will take place on the 06th of June 2020 at 10.00 am via Zoom and Facebook Live.
