Anushka Wijesinha
DIRECTOR
Anushka Wijesinha is an economist with experience in Government, private sector and think tanks. He is the Co-founder/Director of the interdisciplinary public policy think, Centre for a Smart Future, where ‘Nature, Climate, and the Economy’ is one of the main thematic pillars. Anushka is currently, or has been, an international consultant for advisory projects in Mongolia, Pakistan, Myanmar, Maldives, Kenya, Rwanda, and Iran, with a focus on trade, investment and economic competitiveness.
He is an Appointed Member of the Governing Board and the Monetary Policy Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He also serves in various policy advisory capacities at the Presidential Secretariat, including the National Green Finance Committee. In previous roles, he served as Advisor to the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade; as Chief Economist of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce; and as Research Economist at the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka. In the private sector, Anushka has experience on several corporate boards in the financial services industry. Anushka was a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Innovation Ecosystems and was an Asia Foundation Development Fellow at the Korea Development Institute in Seoul. Anushka holds a Masters in Economics from University of Leeds, BSc in Economics from University College London, and is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School’s ‘Leading Economic Growth’ executive programme.
