DR. ANIL CABRAAL /

A pioneer in renewable energy, former engineer and now an independent consultant supporting World Bank Group, African Development Bank, USAID, KfW and other clients on renewable energy and rural energy projects in Africa and Asia; Dr. Carbaal gives his expertise on tasks related to renewable energy, clean energy and rural energy, strategic planning, policy and project development in renewable energy and rural energy

DR. JANAKA RATHANASIRI /

Dr. Rathanasiri was a Research Officer at CISIR for 30 years in Applied Physics and Electronics Section and leaving in 1993 as a Deputy Director. His active involvement in several climate change related assignments as the Principal Investigator (ex: Regional Coastal Study, Global Change Research), both nationally and regionally including his experience working in the Ministry of Environment, will be quite useful for EFL assignments related natural gas and green house gas inventory

DR. MALIK FERNANDO /

Malik Fernando, a retired Medical Officer provides expertise on Marine conservation by speaking out against destructive fishing practices specifically blast fishing (dynamiting), spear fishing (using scuba gear and as a tourist pastime targeting reef fish) and promoting the declaration of shipwrecks as marine protected areas on account of them being biodiversity hot-spots of national value. He will be assisting EFL with projects concerning Marine conservation.

DR. NILANTHI FERNANDO NANAYAKKARA /

Consultant Neurologist with Board Certification as a Specialist in Neurology by the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka since 2007. Her special Interests lie in Acute Stroke Care and Thrombolysis, Tertiary Care Epilepsy Management and will advise EFL with definitive and probable health hazards pertaining to coal.

LUCY EMERTON /

Ms. Emerton is an Environmental economist who has over three decades of experience working in long-term positions and as a short-term consultant across almost 70 countries. Her areas of expertise include extensive involvement in designing and integrating environmental economic tools and approaches into conservation & development policy, planning and management practice across different sectors which will be beneficial for many projects in EFL with reference to Environmental conservation, ecosystems and biodiversity.

PARAKRAMA JAYASINGHE /

As a former engineer and as the current president of Bioenergy Association of Sri Lanka, Mr. Jayasignhe supports EFL with projects related to bioenergy. His projects at the moment involves development of bio mass, engineering design and installation of steam turbine power generation system and help design fabrication and installation of coir fibre pith screening, drying and briquetting and other processing machinery.

SAMANTHA GUNASEKARA /

Mr. Gunasekara is the former deputy director of customs who was also among one of whom initiated and lead the world’s first Biodiversity Protection Unit (BPU) in Sri Lanka which monitors and controls biological materials and wildlife trade at borders. His experience on wildlife detection, investigation and prosecution are quite useful in relevance to various EFL projects and conservation developments.
